Job Title: ID/Security Coordinator

Company: Columbus Regional Airport Authority

Location: Columbus, OH

Pay: $24 per hour

AI Pay Analysis: An hourly rate of $24 for an ID/Security Coordinator in Columbus, OH, is on the lower end of the wage spectrum for this role. Industry standards typically range from $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience and specific job responsibilities. This position usually requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of security protocols, and sometimes experience with technology and compliance, suggesting that a rate of $24 may not fully align with the market value for skilled positions in this field. While this rate may appeal to entry-level candidates or those seeking a foothold in the security industry, it may not be competitive for more experienced professionals in the area.

Job description:
The Columbus Regional Airport Authority is responsible for the management and operation of three key aviation facilities: the passenger-focused John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), the cargo-centric Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK), and the general aviation airport, Bolton Field (TZR). Our team is comprised of a diverse group of dedicated and talented professionals, all united in our mission to elevate CRAA to new heights. While our roles span various functions—including Custodial Services, Customer Service, Accounting, Airport Police, HVAC, and Human Resources—we share a singular objective: to connect Ohio with the rest of the world.

Operating year-round, our organization is dynamic, facilitating the movement of both people and cargo every day. Guided by our core values of Accountability, Innovation, and Respect, each of us plays a vital role in contributing to our organization, the aviation industry, local enterprises, and the broader economy. We strive to create enriching experiences for passengers, generate opportunities for businesses, and drive economic growth for the Columbus region.

At the foundation of our culture are trust and respect. We welcome new ideas and promote innovation, fostering an inclusive and empowering environment where positive change is encouraged.

Your success in this role will be measured by your commitment to excellence in the following responsibilities:

– Ensure the effective and compliant operation of the Airport Identification Office (AIO) in alignment with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations concerning airport-issued identification and related training.
– Provide exemplary customer service regarding access control, identification, and training.
– Generate and distribute monthly reports to all tenants, verifying employee rosters and maintaining records of deleted employees and lost badges.
– Maintain accurate records for badges and supply relevant information to the accounting department to facilitate billing related to fingerprinting and badge issuance.
– Schedule appointments for fingerprinting and training sessions as required.
– Monitor security training classes for applicants seeking unescorted access to secured areas, SIDA, Sterile, and AOA, in accordance with Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1542.
– Collect and submit fingerprints following Title 49 CFR Part 1542 and TSA-mandated classifications.
– Retrieve fingerprint results and process them in compliance with TSA regulatory requirements and CRAA policies.
– Collect and submit relevant data for conducting Security Threat Assessments (STA), adhering to applicable TSA Security Directives.
– Conduct required regulatory audits on identification and access media.
– Maintain training records for all individuals holding airport-issued identification badges in accordance with Title 49 CFR Part 1542.
– Review Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) results for badge applicants seeking unescorted access to restricted areas, either approving badge issuance or forwarding cases to airport police for adjudication.
– Issue badge denial letters as necessary.
– Track and manage documentation for the Airport Tenant Security Program.
– Maintain a file of authorized signatures as mandated by the TSA.
– Assist in the collection and billing of unreturned badges.
– Support manual background check processes as required.
– Oversee the deletion of returned badges.
– Manage Smartkey systems and conduct necessary audits.
– Perform other duties as assigned.

Your transition into this role will be seamless if you meet the following qualifications:

– High School diploma or GED equivalent.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with other computer systems.
– Prior experience in customer service and data entry.
– Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
– A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an airport environment, with a preference for familiarity with TSA regulations governing security.
– Competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour.
– Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, which includes screening for marijuana (medical marijuana cards are not accepted).
