Position Overview:
The Inventory Control Specialist, reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, will spearhead the plant’s cycle count program and ensure precise inventory management. This role involves executing inventory adjustments as necessary and supporting the physical inventory process bi-annually. Key operations at this manufacturing facility include industrial roofing urethane and asphalt, as well as adhesive tape.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Rigorously adhere to all work instructions and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Engage actively in 5S initiatives and maintain general housekeeping standards within the plant and work area.
  • Participate in audits to meet regulatory, customer, and quality requirements.
  • Uphold and follow Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance standards.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy at the end of each business day.
  • Utilize digital scales with proficiency in both metric and US standard units.
  • Accurately record data and transactions within the ERP system.
  • Maintain precise records of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Lead the cycle count program and address any inventory discrepancies.
  • Complete business-related spreadsheets and generate reports using Excel.
  • Assist with administrative tasks in the absence of supervision.
  • Oversee inventory management at both the Chagrin Falls Manufacturing Plant and the Maple Heights Warehouse.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse, shipping, and/or receiving operations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, percentages, weighing, measuring, and weight conversions.
  • Capacity to read, comprehend, and communicate information effectively.
  • Experience operating forklifts.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, particularly ERP platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation between facilities.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience handling hazardous materials and knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Familiarity with scissor lifts.

Compensation for this position is influenced by various factors, including education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location, with a salary of $50,000 annually.
