Job description:

We are currently seeking candidates for a JANITOR position, available in both full-time and part-time capacities.

Location: Medtronic, 620 Watson Street South West, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Please note that only online applications will be accepted.

Schedule: Available shifts are Monday through Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Further details will be provided during the interview process.

Requirements: While prior housekeeping experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Compensation: The hourly pay rate ranges from $16.00 to $18.00.

Job Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining buildings in a clean and orderly fashion by performing various heavy cleaning duties, including mopping floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and windows, and properly disposing of waste.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collects and disposes of trash in accordance with approved procedures and infection control protocols.
• Dusts and damp mops floors based on established cleaning techniques.
• Moves equipment and furniture as necessary for proper cleaning and returns items to their designated positions.
• Cleans assigned areas using the appropriate materials and equipment, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized, and adheres to the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to uphold a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Proactively identifies areas that require cleaning and takes the initiative to complete necessary tasks.
• Completes all tasks assigned by a supervisor promptly and efficiently.
• Adheres to all federal, state, and local guidelines while performing cleaning duties.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors; shampoos carpets as needed.
• Contributes positively to team dynamics; maintains professionalism in interactions with customers, fellow employees, and others.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
