Job description:
Hilton Veterinary Clinic of Ferndale is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team, located at 3250 Hilton Rd, Ferndale, MI 48220. The position offers a competitive compensation rate of $23–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Clinic Hours:
- Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Schedule:
Enjoy a consistent four-day workweek, which includes alternating Saturdays as part of the schedule.

Responsibilities:
Major Duties:
- Deliver high-quality in-patient medical care: administering medications, assisting with treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring.
- Prepare and monitor anesthesia/surgery, including maintaining and sterilizing equipment.
- Provide dental care, including ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, and assisting with dental surgeries.
- Handle radiology duties, positioning patients and assisting with the taking of radiographs.
- Execute laboratory tasks such as collecting and preparing samples for testing and recording results as needed.
- Prepare invoices and deliver client communication for hospitalized patients, including updates and discharge instructions.
- Educate clients on at-home care procedures and perform various veterinary technician appointments.
- Assist with outpatient appointments by preparing and cleaning exam rooms, checking in and out patients, taking histories, and managing medical records.
- Support reception duties, including phone management and booking appointments.
- Facilitate training and mentorship for new team members.
- Manage inventory by notifying the inventory manager of low stock and assisting with restocking.
- Prepare prescriptions and fulfill medication refills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance.
- Capacity to endure prolonged periods of activity on hard surfaces.
- Competence in managing a variety of pets and exposure to medical equipment and conditions in the clinic environment.
