The Reserve at Red Run, Madison Heights’ newest senior independent living facility, is seeking skilled cooks to join our team. If you bring a positive energy and a passion for culinary excellence, we invite you to help us enhance the quality of living for our community members.

Our state-of-the-art facility is designed for the next generation of seniors, and you will be working in a brand-new kitchen with a "cook to order" menu. We understand that exceptional food has a significant impact on the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals for community members.
  • Coordinate and assist in managing meal service.
  • Sanitize food service areas to maintain health standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of food preparation and inventory.
  • Receive and rotate inventory as required.
  • Prepare meals catering to special dietary needs.
  • Create texture-modified food upon request.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food handling.
  • Monitor compliance with quality service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • An associate degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience cooking in a restaurant or food service setting.
  • Serve Safe certification is preferred.
  • Experience in menu planning is a plus.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
  • Must have a current TB test and physical examination if required by the position.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and support 100 pounds.
  • Frequent kneeling, crouching, and bending.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
