Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and perform any other relevant mechanical tasks as required.
  • Accurately complete in-process quality control check sheets as needed.
  • Conduct quality control audits as required.
  • Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship in the jobs being assembled.
  • Adhere to good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Take direction from the Team Leader and/or Supervisor effectively.
  • Provide timely updates regarding job status to the Mechanical Assembly Leader.
  • Understand and be aware of due dates for projects, scheduling work accordingly.
  • Communicate daily with the Supervisor to report progress on current assignments.
  • Assist in disassembling, packing, and loading machines for shipment.
  • Fill in for absent team members as necessary.
  • Order materials as required and coordinate with receiving to ensure timely acquisition.
  • Support the startup and debugging of new equipment.
  • Recommend work methods and materials that may enhance existing designs as appropriate.
  • Travel as needed to assist with installations, debugging, trials, or problem-solving at customer locations.
  • Read and interpret assembly diagrams; collaborate with Mechanical Engineers and Assembly Leaders to resolve design issues related to machines and controls.
  • Recommend, initiate, and document engineering changes in accordance with ECO procedures as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new employees.

Job Requirements

  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Builder is necessary.
