Job Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and undertake any other mechanical tasks pertinent to the role.
- Complete in-process quality control check sheets as required.
- Conduct quality control audits as necessary.
- Ensure high standards of craftsmanship throughout the assembly process.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices within the work environment.
- Follow directions provided by supervisors and team leaders.
- Communicate job status updates to the Mechanical Assembly Leader effectively.
- Understand project due dates and schedule work accordingly to meet timelines.
- Regularly report progress on job tasks to the supervisor on a daily basis.
- Assist with disassembly, packing, and loading of machines for shipment.
- Serve as a substitute in the event of absenteeism among team members.
- Order materials as needed and coordinate with receiving departments.
- Support the startup and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Suggest improvements to work methods and materials for existing designs.
- Travel as necessary to assist with installations, troubleshooting, and problem resolution at customer sites.
- Read and interpret assembly prints, collaborating with Mechanical Engineers and Build Leaders to address design issues.
- Initiate, recommend, and document engineering changes in accordance with Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as required.
- Provide training and support to new employees.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machine Builder is essential.
