Job description:
Position compensation is set at $25.78 per hour.
The role involves operating one or more pieces of manufacturing equipment, which includes transporting raw materials to production lines, and executing tasks such as filling, capping, sealing, labeling, or packaging products. The incumbent will remove damaged products or supplies as necessary and is responsible for production quality, as well as package and flavor changeovers. Adherence to required product inspection processes is essential, along with performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure that production equipment operates efficiently.
Physical demands of the position include regularly lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling cases weighing between 20 to 45 pounds throughout the shift. The role primarily requires walking or standing for extended periods and may involve stooping, crawling, and crouching under conveyors. Availability to work weekends and/or holidays may be required.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Operate and monitor production line(s) to optimize efficiency.
- Move or adjust materials and/or finished products to ensure proper flow.
- Maintain product and package quality.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Operate all manufacturing equipment, including new technologies, with safety and efficiency.
- Clean equipment and the work area before, during, and after shifts.
- Uphold a clean work environment through effective housekeeping practices.
- Expedite repairs on production lines while collaborating with maintenance as necessary.
- Maintain daily records of downtime and machine operations.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Helpful Experience:
- Familiarity with high-speed production lines involving high output, performance equipment in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience handling pallets, including operating a forklift and stacking or bundling products.
- Proficiency in operating packing machines for stacking, bundling, and wrapping products.
- Experience with filler machines, ensuring the correct product mix and operating production computers.
- Knowledge of palletizers, including building pallets and managing product changeovers.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics relevant to production processes.
- Experience interpreting schedules and understanding production requirements for planning and changeovers.
- Proficiency in using computers for monitoring electronic settings, line speeds, and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with sanitization practices and Good Manufacturing Practices in a food production environment.
- Experience with minor mechanical repairs, including resolving jams and adjusting equipment using tools.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices to inspect and maintain equipment effectively.
