Job Responsibilities

  • Compensation Range: $48 – $52 per hour.
  • Lead a team of skilled employees in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment and processes.
  • Consistently administer the National and Local Agreement between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union, exercising independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems, with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
  • Candidates will gain the opportunity to enhance their skill sets while influencing the development of manufacturing processes for electric and autonomous vehicles.

What You Will Do:

  • Respond to the manufacturing daily plan in real-time.
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Navigate changes and ambiguity adeptly.
  • Drive accountability through personnel and processes, including conducting difficult conversations in a unionized setting.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Utilize analytical abilities to address complex issues.
  • Conduct necessary checks and tests, communicating evaluations of results.
  • Recommend solutions to identified problems.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions.

  • Implement divisional and corporate policies alongside safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Maintain frequent communication and collaboration with stakeholders outside the workgroup.

  • Apply GMS principles effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of one year in a supervisory role or at least five months as an internal GM per diem group leader.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills within a dynamic context.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with experience managing conflict and decision-making in ambiguous settings.
  • Basic proficiency in computers (e.g., Microsoft Word, emailing, typing).
  • Flexibility to work weekends and rotating shifts.
