The role involves the repair and installation of production and manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting machinery for optimal functionality and performing preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. The technician will diagnose equipment malfunctions and execute necessary repairs or adjustments. Candidates must possess their own hand tools and should be prepared for continuous work in environments with exposure to heat, noise, gas, and chemicals. The position entails frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling, and may involve weekend and/or holiday shifts.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
– Conduct preventative maintenance on production equipment.
– Execute repairs on all production equipment as required.
– Perform breakdown analyses.
– Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area.
– Upgrade production lines with the latest equipment and technology.
– Collaborate with outside contractors assigned to the line.
– Manage line changes for packaging adjustments.
– Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, and audit standards.
– Work independently with limited supervision, ensuring timely documentation of scheduled tasks and completed work.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
– Must be 18 years of age or older.
– Successful completion of a technical assessment focused on essential maintenance knowledge.
– Proven experience with mechanical systems, including gearboxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, and bearings.
– Proficient in interpreting product manuals for repair applications.
– Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting mechanical failures.
– Experience in reading mechanical drawings, particularly in hydraulics and pneumatics.
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
– Familiarity with basic electrical systems, including starters, fuses, contacts, and relays.
– Experience with compressors and ammonia refrigeration systems.
– Knowledge of conveyors and airveyors, including air cylinders, diverters, sensors, and motor controls.
– Exposure to electrical installations, frequency drives, and troubleshooting.
– Understanding of electronics such as level probes and flow meters.
– Experience in rebuilding gearing and gearboxes, as well as parts ordering and machining.
– Proficiency in high-pressure hydraulic systems and related troubleshooting.
– Knowledge of kinematics, particularly in line speed and sprocket size ratios.
– Experience with packaging and high-speed production environments.
– Familiarity with PLC systems, including industrial maintenance and computer controls.
– Experience with pneumatic systems, including solenoids and troubleshooting.
– Knowledge of preventative maintenance data management systems.
– Proficiency in pump maintenance, including troubleshooting and seal replacement.
– Experience reading electrical schematics and blueprints.
– Familiarity with SERVO systems and their troubleshooting.
– Proven ability in diagnostic problem-solving.
– Experience collaborating in team-based settings.
