Job description:

The Content Manager is accountable for copy editing, researching, writing, and developing content across print, digital, and social media platforms to effectively articulate the mission of United Way of Greater Cincinnati. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring consistent and accurate messaging regarding United Way’s community impact is communicated across various channels. As a key storyteller, the Content Manager will establish the organizational tone and voice through a diverse range of editorial content, including emails, blog posts, social media updates, newsletter articles, brochures, marketing materials, and other communications.

In this role, the Content Manager will engage with community members served by United Way programs, employees, partner agency representatives, donors, volunteers, and advocates to gather compelling narratives. Content will address a variety of topics related to United Way and will be produced under tight deadlines. Exceptional grammar and writing skills are imperative for success in this position.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Craft, review, and edit engaging content across multiple communication mediums, including social media, marketing materials, internal and external emails, and digital giving platforms.
  • Identify and develop inspiring stories that motivate others to interact with United Way.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to freelance videographers regarding video planning and production.
  • Ensure message consistency across all platforms by adhering to established messaging and style guide standards.
  • Proofread and copy edit a diverse array of materials.
  • Contribute to and help manage the ongoing editorial calendar.
  • Assist with additional marketing and communication tasks as necessary, including writing, editing, and proofing support; media relations; and speech development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in editorial, content marketing, content strategy, or content curation roles.
  • Background in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, and/or professional writing/storytelling.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to distill complex content into engaging messages that resonate with target audiences.
