Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time capacity during weekend afternoons. As an integral member of our staff, you will deliver exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, fostering a welcoming and inclusive "Judgement Free" environment. Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:
- Warmly greet members and guests, ensuring they feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Answer phone calls courteously, assisting callers with a range of inquiries.
- Check in members, conduct tours, enroll new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events effectively.
- Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Facilitate beverage and merchandise purchases through the point of sale system.
- Assist with the issuance of new membership cards, address changes, and inquiries regarding billing or payments using the POS system.
Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area and lobby.
- Perform regular facility cleaning and maintenance, including mopping spills, trash removal, cleaning windows, mirrors, and re-racking weights.
- Ensure that all exercise equipment and tanning beds are regularly cleaned.
- Keep restrooms and wet areas clean and well-stocked.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Candidates must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment depends on a satisfactory outcome.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, engaging with members and coworkers in a positive and professional manner.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Exhibit an upbeat, positive, and professional attitude.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required timeframe and maintain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and performing repetitive hand motions.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
- Capable of continuous verbal communication in-person or on the phone throughout the shift.
- Maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.
- Ability to see within a normal visual range, with or without correction.
