Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time weekend role, working from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply! In this position, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a consistently exceptional “Judgement Free” experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:

• Welcome members and guests, providing exceptional customer service to make everyone feel comfortable and valued.
• Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner and assist callers with various questions.
• Check in members, provide facility tours for new members, process sign-ups, log amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Utilize the POS system for new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk and lobby area.
• Carry out routine facility cleaning and maintenance, including mopping, trash removal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure regular cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Perform routine cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Applicants must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, exceeding expectations.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• A positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within the required timeframe and be physically capable of performing CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to engage in continuous conversation in person or on the phone during shifts.
• Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in emergencies.
