Job description:
We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis during weekends and mornings. Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish are particularly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service to our Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an outstanding "Judgement Free" experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:
- Warmly greet members and guests, providing exemplary customer service to create a welcoming environment.
- Answer phone inquiries in an amicable manner and assist callers with diverse questions.
- Manage member check-ins, conduct tours, facilitate new member sign-ups, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member questions and concerns.
- Process beverage or merchandise purchases using the point-of-sale system.
- Utilize the POS system to assist with issuing new membership cards and handling address changes and billing inquiries.
Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness at the front desk and lobby area, ensuring they are orderly and inviting.
- Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of the facility, including addressing spills, trash removal, and maintaining equipment.
- Consistently clean exercise equipment and tanning beds.
- Ensure restrooms and wet areas are clean and well-stocked.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Candidates must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment will depend on the satisfactory outcome of this check.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to foster positive interactions with members and colleagues to exceed expectations.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor is essential.
- Punctuality and reliability are critical for this role.
- CPR/AED certification must be obtained and maintained within the company’s designated timeframe, along with the physical capability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand motion are required.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
- Continuous communication in person or via phone during shifts.
