Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time floater capacity. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a welcoming and “Judgment Free” experience. Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests, offering outstanding customer service to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
• Answer phone calls in a friendly manner and assist callers with various inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise purchases using the point-of-sale system.
• Assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries using the POS system.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk and lobby area.
• Perform regular facility cleaning, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure thorough cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
• Conduct routine cleaning and restocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Significant availability to pick up shifts as needed.
• Applicants for overnight positions must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with members and colleagues.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• An upbeat and professional attitude is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are imperative.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within the timelines set by the company and be able to physically perform CPR/AED when necessary.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking and standing; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motion.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to engage in conversation in person or over the phone throughout shifts.
• Maintain the physical capability to administer CPR in case of emergencies.
• Satisfactory vision in normal visual range with or without correction.
• Satisfactory hearing in the normal audio range with or without correction.
