Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis during weekend mornings. Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. As a vital member of our staff, you will provide exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an outstanding "Judgement Free" experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Warmly greet members and guests, delivering top-notch customer service to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner, assisting callers with a variety of questions.
• Check in members, conduct tours for prospective members, facilitate new member sign-ups, and communicate updates and events to all patrons.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise purchases via the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system for new membership cards, address changes, and billing inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk and lobby area.
• Perform regular facility maintenance, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are regularly cleaned.
• Conduct routine cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Candidates must consent to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment. Continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and colleagues, surpassing member expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical.
• CPR/AED certification must be obtained and maintained within company-required timelines, with the physical ability to perform CPR in emergencies.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions are required.
• Capability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Must be able to communicate effectively in person and over the phone throughout the shift.
• Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR if necessary.
• Visual acuity within normal range, with or without correction.
