Base pay will be determined by the applicant’s skills and experience, and the role is also eligible for team-based bonus opportunities. Please note that temporary associates are not eligible for benefits but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Responsibilities
Job Summary
You will assist the Clare Bridge Program Manager or Coordinator in leading and implementing a calendar of person-centered, dementia-friendly programs tailored to meet the specific needs of all residents within the dementia care community. By aligning with Brookdale’s Resident and Family Engagement philosophy, you will help provide person-centered programs that engage residents in meaningful and purposeful dementia care activities, thereby enhancing their quality of life. Your role will involve recognizing individual abilities and needs while promoting independence and honoring resident habits, historical routines, interests, and preferences in the provision of care and programming.
Essential Functions:
– Support the implementation of a person-centered program to meet the diverse needs and interests of residents. Assist in leading and engaging residents in the seven domains of well-being—purposeful, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical—in a dementia-friendly structured environment, including sensory-focused small groups for those who cannot participate in larger gatherings.
– Collaborate with the Program Manager or Coordinator to review individual resident service plans and complete required program documentation in adherence to Brookdale standards and state regulations.
– Ensure that dementia care programs comply with state, federal, and other regulations while aligning with Brookdale’s mission, policies, procedures, and standards.
– Provide guidance and resources to fellow associates regarding the importance of programming/engagement and other aspects of enhancing residents’ quality of life.
– Coordinate and engage in special community events, such as family socials, marketing/sales activities, and open houses.
– Maintain positive communication with residents, families, and community professionals about Brookdale’s dementia care program and its benefits, as well as discuss residents’ personal needs and achievements with their families.
– Assist the Manager or Coordinator in achieving the department’s quality improvement initiatives, including the Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST).
– Support plans and coordinate programming events outside of the community, which may require driving a community vehicle.
– Assist with the volunteer program, including training and supervising volunteers.
– Perform personal care, housekeeping, and dietary responsibilities as needed to maintain service quality consistent with Clare Bridge Program standards.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of experience working with older adults and individuals with dementia is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a current three-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation as a condition of employment.
