Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is a dynamic statewide company in search of a Merchandising Swing Representative to join our Retail Chain Sales Team, servicing multiple accounts in West Bloomfield.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Merchandising Swing Representative is tasked with the timely stocking and handling of all Great Lakes Wine & Spirits merchandise delivered to assigned retail accounts. Key responsibilities include packing out orders, pricing individual bottles, constructing displays, resetting shelf and cold box schematics, and ensuring proper implementation of shelf and display signage. Additional duties encompass:
- Fostering positive business relationships with management, buyers, and decision-makers at assigned accounts.
- Maintaining comprehensive product knowledge of all GLWAS brands and proactively enhancing understanding of wine, beverage, and category trends, while consistently improving the presentation of GLWAS products within accounts.
- Executing and understanding the shelf and display standards established by GLWAS, its suppliers, and the retail accounts, including adherence to stocking and “pack out” policies.
- Ensuring all shelf price tags are accurate and positioned correctly at the start of each month.
- Verifying display prices are up-to-date and appropriately displayed.
- Managing and placing all current Point of Sale materials for GLWAS products.
- Utilizing reports, forms, and pre-planned strategies effectively.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, with daytime hours varying from Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend hours may also be necessary as per scheduling demands.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The Merchandising Swing Representative operates primarily in the field, engaging in daily travel and driving under varying weather conditions. Additionally, time may be spent in a professional office setting utilizing standard office equipment. The work environment varies based on account visits. This role is physically demanding, requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing, while lifting, stacking, moving, and rotating items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling carts requiring up to 100 pounds of force.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting base salary of $37,500.00

Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 21 years
- High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Proficiency in iOS devices
- Preferred two years of sales experience

- Adherence to policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual, as well as any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
- Collaboration with all management and staff at Great Lakes Wine & Spirits.
- Compliance with all MLCC rules and regulations relevant to the position.
- Responsible use of alcohol in relation to business activities.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screenings including a full background check, 10-panel drug test, physical evaluation, and agility test.
- Maintenance of a safe driving record.
- Professional dress and grooming standards.
