Job description:
Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide dedicated support to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The Resident Aide will assist residents with their activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and can foster genuine relationships with seniors.
No licenses or certifications are required, and we are hiring immediately! Experience with medication management is essential, and candidates must be comfortable working independently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Maintain a clean environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
- Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
- Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers at Homestead.
- Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Previous experience working with the elderly is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work every other weekend.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license or ID.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with punctuality for all shifts.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position with 8-hour shifts. Candidates will be required to work every other weekend.
