The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations within the manufacturing plant. This position ensures the efficient assembly of high-quality products, adhering to delivery schedules and cost targets. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure delivery, quality, and cost objectives are consistently met.
- Lead production initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
- Report on plant labor operating efficiencies and machine utilization to management.
- Conduct performance evaluations for Production Supervisors.
- Maintain compliance with production, quality, and safety standards.
- Uphold a safe work environment and enforce 5S housekeeping practices on the production floor.
- Analyze downtime causes and coordinate corrective actions to address issues effectively.
- Proactively resolve conflicts and challenges.
- Display a positive management approach and engage actively in various meetings.
- Direct and supervise Team Leaders and production team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of production schedules.
- Implement and maintain safe work practices, ready to direct plant emergencies as they arise.
- Oversee the training and development of Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Technicians, addressing both sociological and technological aspects of their roles.
- Ensure strict adherence to Quality Control standards while promoting the company’s reputation for quality production.
- Communicate effectively with all employees to foster understanding and collaboration.
- Manage personnel to cultivate and maintain trust and integrity throughout the workforce.
- Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improvement that contribute to overall plant profitability.
- Comply with all Company Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Recent experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve results through team collaboration.
- In-depth knowledge of financial and budgetary controls.
- High degree of professionalism, organizational skills, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to motivate and effectively delegate authority to staff.
- Strong background and working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with New Program Launches is required.
