In this role, you will interact with patients to address a wide array of billing inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. You will be responsible for managing patient accounts and collections, consistently providing exceptional customer service.

This full-time position requires flexibility to work within our normal business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including the first 90 days on-site every day, with potential for occasional overtime based on business needs. Employees will have a hybrid work arrangement, splitting time between the office and home.

We provide 2 weeks of comprehensive on-the-job training, scheduled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients and internal departments to address billing inquiries and facilitate appropriate resolutions.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, initiate payment arrangements, generate itemized bills as necessary, and manage unpaid and overdue balances.
  • Analyze and follow up on patient account balances, making corrections and rebilling insurance carriers as required.
  • Manage patient accounts, addressing credits, denials, underpayments, and re-billing of COB/no coverage denials efficiently.
  • Collect payments and apply relevant discounts and adjustments to patient accounts.
  • Adhere to customer service protocols while managing patient accounts.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate documentation of all account activities; collaborate with bad debt vendors on patient-related issues.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of and compliance with all patient account policies at Premiere Medical Resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in physician billing, billing company environments, or medical collections.
  • Proficient with keyboard and 10-key adding machine.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and clerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work varied shift schedules during business hours and comply with initial on-site training and overtime as needed.

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Must reside within commutable distance to the office at 2750 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
  • Ability to secure all sensitive company documents, if applicable.
  • A dedicated, private workspace outside of common living areas must be established.
  • Access to a UnitedHealth Group-approved high-speed internet connection or existing high-speed service is required.

The hourly wage for this role ranges from $16.88 to $33.22, based on full-time employment. Compensation factors include local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, and more.
