Job description:

Starting pay is $17.67 per hour or higher, based on years of experience. This part-time position requires availability on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

As a Patient Services Representative with Corewell Health, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional healthcare services to our patients. Collaborating with a dedicated team, you will be responsible for registration, concierge, and clerical functions, positively impacting the lives of those we serve.

Essential Functions

  • Address complex patient and customer issues, exercising high-level discernment when registering patients in treatment rooms.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including assisting with patient check-out, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, managing in-office procedures and surgeries, reviewing incoming referrals, maintaining provider templates, navigating external referral portals, and reconciling multi-department deposits.
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations, and assist with retroactive denials and appeals.
  • Manage complex EMR/EHR scanning and faxing, ensuring accuracy in uploading documents to EPIC.
  • Facilitate the training of new team members according to established standards.
  • Be prepared to perform the duties of a Patient Services Representative, Associate as needed.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives and complete all required safety-related competencies in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or a related field.
