Calling all Experienced Plastic Injection and Extrusion Technicians/Operators!

Are you ready to leverage your mechanical expertise? Our esteemed partner in Medina, OH, has been a leader in the manufacturing sector for over a century and is seeking a qualified candidate to join their team as a Plastics Production Technician.

Plastic Injection Mold or Plastic Extrusion Mold experience is essential for this position.

Salary: $18-$25/hr, commensurate with experience.

Available Shifts (40-50 hours/week):

  • 2nd Shift: 3 PM – 10 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10 PM – 6 AM

Job Summary:
The Production Technician plays a vital role in the hands-on operation and maintenance of PVC extrusion blow molding equipment to fulfill the company’s plastic production requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute prescribed start-up, shutdown, and purge procedures while operating and transitioning to new products on the extrusion blow molding production line(s).
  • Monitor production runs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal resin feed, bottle weights, physical clarity, and product quality.
  • Adjust the bottle trim machine to meet specified product standards.
  • Conduct quality checks and accurately record quality data in the production tracking program.
  • Troubleshoot production line issues and related equipment, performing necessary adjustments and repairs.
  • Utilize appropriate material handling equipment to transport raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring all safety devices are functioning properly before commencing work.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to the PM schedule.
  • Track production and quality using the production tracking program.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workspace.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in operating both automated, PLC-controlled machinery and hydraulically powered equipment.
  • Willingness to learn the technical aspects of PVC extrusion blow molding and mold set-ups.
  • Organized and disciplined in managing spare parts, tools, and materials.
  • Competence in using both Metric and Standard measurements and in operating appropriate hand tools.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-starter with strong decision-making abilities.
  • Good manual dexterity and coordination.
