We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. As a vital member of our care team, the Medical Assistant collaborates closely with primary care physicians to deliver exceptional patient care and create a welcoming experience for our patients. Due to our unique model, the Medical Assistant is responsible for overseeing the entire patient experience by performing both medical reception and clinical duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities reflect the expectations for this role but are not exhaustive:

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring that they are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and collect relevant updated health information from patients to inform providers.
  • Take vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, dress wounds, and assist with procedures. Collaborate with contracted labs for additional testing as needed.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations per the Provider’s written orders, utilizing oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal methods.
  • Work with the care team to develop individualized patient care plans, identifying and addressing care gaps.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests, documentation, coordination of specialist visits, referrals, and check-in/check-out processes.
  • Accurately record pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and communicate timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone, in accordance with written instructions from the Provider.
  • Engage in outreach initiatives to encourage patient participation among eligible groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment necessary for treatments.

About You

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a primary care setting; specific requirements may vary based on clinic needs.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or a related field.
  • National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration is strongly preferred; certification or registration is mandatory in states where required.
  • CPR/BLS certification is required prior to the start date.
  • Preferred experience in phlebotomy.

Pay Range: $20.00 – $24.00/hr
