Job description:

Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager and with regular guidance from a Team Leader, this full-time position is responsible for a range of tasks essential to the safe operation of highly automated manufacturing equipment, in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. These responsibilities play a vital role in ensuring the Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Cost-effectiveness of our production lines, which operate continuously, 24 hours a day, five days a week. New associates will undergo a three-month probationary period.

Shift Example:
3rd Shift: Monday 9 PM – Friday 7 AM (4, 10-hour shifts); Overtime may be required on Sunday evenings. Compensation for 3rd Shift is $24.00 per hour.

The ceiling tile manufacturing process involves the operation and monitoring of machinery that cuts, sizes, paints, and packages ceiling tiles for shipment to customers. All employees are expected to maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas. Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Safely start up, operate, and shut down production equipment, including performing periodic lockout/tag-out procedures to resolve line jams or conduct machine repairs, in adherence to all safety policies and practices.
  • Conduct basic maintenance checks on production equipment to ensure the safe operation and quality output of production lines.
  • Perform quality inspections to meet established standards, minimize rework, and manage non-conforming materials.
  • Interpret and follow daily production schedules accurately.
  • Enter production data into computer systems.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards by keeping designated work areas and equipment clean and organized.
  • Carry out material handling tasks involving raw materials, Goods In Process, and finished goods safely.
  • Complete related duties as assigned by production leadership or management.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, pulling, and carrying; must be capable of navigating stairs/catwalks.
  • Operate in a dusty environment that lacks climate control, with potential exposure to fiberglass and other particulates.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Availability to rotate through all core positions.

Qualifications:
To effectively perform this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in essential duties, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial or warehouse experience is desirable.
  • Experience with lean/process improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Must be capable of demonstrating competency in core production roles within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to earn and maintain forklift certification is required.
  • Must have the ability to work independently while demonstrating a strong ability to collaborate within a team environment.

  • Level 6: $40.26*
    Progression to Levels 1.5, 2, 3, and 4 requires meeting specific guidelines.
