Job description:
Job Purpose:

  • Provide guidance and support to contractors at DPC while assisting Shift Leaders in achieving operational objectives.

Duties:

  • Demonstrate commitment to fostering and maintaining a positive safety culture within the workplace.
  • Communicate line assignments, direct work activities, and coordinate breaks while collaborating with team members to ensure product packaging meets customer specifications.
  • Ensure that each contractor performs one Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observation weekly on their respective shift, with the team lead responsible for tracking compliance.
  • Relay issues or concerns from DPC to associates, ensuring effective communication of policy updates and enforcement.
  • Implement the accident protocol as outlined by DPC in the event of any incidents, adhering to agency guidelines for reporting and necessary actions.
  • Inspect work throughout the packaging process, communicating any quality or operational issues to the appropriate leader.
  • Assist in refining procedures to promote consistency in quality and efficiency standards.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient work environment, ensuring safety hazards are addressed.
  • Responsible for training new contract employees and developing additional trainers for each line.
  • Conduct investigations as appropriate, adhering to agency guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet quality, quantity, and good manufacturing practices to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Monitor the onsite phone for attendance issues and communicate all concerns to the respective onsite and branch manager.
  • Participate in safety programs, meetings, and training as required.
  • Ensure compliance among contractors regarding uniforms, badges, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Bring safety concerns to management’s attention promptly.
  • Engage in recurring responsibilities, including:
    • Assisting new contractors with clocking in and out.
    • Tracking requests for paid time off (PTO).
    • Training and managing the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program.
    • Coaching and counseling on attendance, performance, safety, and other relevant issues.
    • Maintaining effective communication with onsite and shift leads.

Planning and Decision Making:

  • Demonstrate the ability to make sound, timely decisions in response to safety concerns.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in all situations.
  • Escalate contractor-related issues to management at the branch as needed in a timely manner.
