Job description:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations function, including the planning, organization, direction, and control of operational activities. This role ensures that all food preparation and packaging adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety regulations. The successful candidate will monitor and evaluate Plant Operations concerning quality, safety, productivity, cost control, service to sales, employee training, and leadership development.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the QRMP audit and contribute to the development of procedures and corrective actions.
  • Lead the implementation of the Quality Risk Management Process (QRMP) system and operational standards as defined in the plant accountability list.
  • Ensure adherence to Kraft Heinz quality standards to maintain product integrity and compliance with Food Safety guidelines by following GMP, standard operating procedures (SOP), and Kraft Heinz specifications.
  • Prepare departmental budgets and monitor variances related to productivity, both in the short and long term, encompassing labor scheduling, product scheduling, raw materials, and sanitation.
  • Organize and facilitate production line activities to ensure compliance with established requirements pertaining to quality, safety, employee relations, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Suppliers, Engineering, Quality, and Factory Employees to discover innovative solutions that enhance the quality and productivity of our products.
  • Encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives, analytical problem-solving, project planning, and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Regularly review and update practices and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with the Product Supply Group on weekly scheduling for the Packaging and Processing Area to optimize productivity.
  • Prepare, disseminate, and follow up on all established records, reports, and forms.
  • Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including employees, vendors, and government regulators.
  • Monitor productivity metrics and assist in formulating corrective action plans necessary for achieving annual productivity improvements.
  • Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents through monthly departmental safety meetings and by ensuring compliance among hourly employees in partnership with salaried Supervisors.
  • Report on quality defect issues and collaborate on determining necessary corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage day-to-day operations to achieve established efficiencies.
  • Oversee departmental budgets in alignment with annual productivity improvement objectives.
  • Propose innovative solutions to production challenges and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations among workforce.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma / Lean), leading change initiatives and facilitating planning.
  • Foster the development of high-performing work teams through coaching, training, and effective communication of goals and factory performance indicators. Embrace principles of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Assist in supervising production staff, focusing on performance management and employee development.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, Food Technology, or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing context is necessary.

New Hire Base Salary Range: $118,400.00 – $148,000.00

Bonus: Eligible for a performance-based bonus in accordance with plan terms and governing documents.
