Production Operator
Location: Troy, MI / On-Site
Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Primary Duties:
The Production Operator will perform entry-level production tasks under supervision, which include:
- Preparing raw materials and packaging: identifying and preparing the correct quantities, transporting them to the designated production area, and reporting any deviations from the norm, while noting the start and finish of processes.
- Operating processing equipment in accordance with established process instructions and procedures.
- Monitoring equipment to ensure processes maintain desired run rates.
- Conducting initial testing and releasing products to verify compliance with specifications.
- Checking labels and packaging materials to ensure adherence to labeling rules and instructions.
- Packaging final products in compliance with instructions and H.B. Fuller’s quality standards.
- Executing all operations in alignment with H.B. Fuller’s Quality Standards and operating procedures, while adhering to all legal and company EHS regulations.
- Maintaining housekeeping in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Assisting with any additional duties as directed by the Production Manager/Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- A basic educational degree, high school diploma, or general education diploma.
- No prior experience is necessary.
- Familiarity with standard software programs (e.g., MS Office).
- Ability to read and comprehend work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
- Availability to work in shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in an industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of English.
Physical Environment:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Responsibilities include walking, climbing stairs, and using hands to lift or remove boxes.
- Frequent stretching and reaching with arms extended, stooping, and bending.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work conditions generally involve exposure to temperature variations, dust, smells, and normal noise levels in a chemical environment.
Compensation for this role will range from $20.00 to $21.00 per hour, with actual pay determined by various factors, including education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
