Job description:
Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential support to our residents in Clinton Township, MI. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living and offer companionship and emotional support. We are looking for candidates who have a genuine passion for helping others, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and are skilled at building meaningful relationships with seniors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Administer medications according to physician’s orders.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
- Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
- Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
- Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Experience working with the elderly preferred.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license or identification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and to consistently arrive on time for shifts.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position with 8-hour shifts. Weekend availability is required every other weekend.
Pay:
