Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide essential support to our residents in Sterling Heights, MI. The Caregiver role involves assisting residents with activities of daily living while offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess exceptional communication skills, and build meaningful relationships with seniors.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications according to physician orders.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness in residents’ environments, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly community is essential.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license or ID required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, consistently arriving on time for all scheduled shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, with Caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts. Availability for every other weekend is mandatory.
