Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to deliver exceptional care to our residents in Clinton Township, MI. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a heartfelt commitment to assisting others, possess outstanding communication skills, and cultivate meaningful relationships with seniors.

As a Caregiver, your primary responsibilities will include aiding residents with activities of daily living while also providing companionship and emotional support. A background in medication administration is essential, and candidates must be comfortable with independent work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with residents’ families, support services, and Homestead coworkers.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s license or state ID.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member, with a punctual arrival for each shift.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position, with Caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts, including every other weekend.

Pay:
