Job description:

Homestead Health Care is actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Caregivers to deliver quality care to our residents in Sterling Heights, MI. As a Caregiver, you will assist residents with daily living activities while providing companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with seniors.

Experience in medication administration is essential, and candidates must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications as per physician orders.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Capability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license or identification is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position with 8-hour shifts. Availability for every other weekend is required.

Compensation:
Starting hourly pay is $15.00, with potential for advancement.
