Job description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Radiology Technologist to join our medical imaging team for a 13-week contract. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of radiographic procedures across various departments, including diagnostic radiology, outpatient services, nursing units, and surgical areas. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute diagnostic radiographs in accordance with physician orders.
- Operate imaging equipment in all areas of the radiology department, including fluoroscopy and portable x-ray.
- Strictly adhere to radiation safety protocols to ensure the protection of patients and staff.
- Assist with front desk operations and utilize radiology information systems effectively.
- Schedule imaging examinations and address any scheduling issues as needed.
- Coordinate patient transport through centralized systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Retrieve, modify, and manage imaging data in line with established protocols.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to facilitate seamless patient care.
- Notify and coordinate with on-call radiology staff as required.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions to clinical engineering and management.
- Provide support and guidance to radiologic technology students.
- Ensure compliance with equipment quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements, including those from ODH and the Joint Commission.
- Manage the inventory of radiology supplies and assist with departmental audits.
- Access and manage patient records in accordance with HIPAA and imaging department protocols.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, and precise patient positioning.
- Proficient in the use of x-ray equipment and printing systems.
