Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide essential care to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The Resident Aide will play a vital role in assisting residents with activities of daily living and offering companionship and emotional support. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and build genuine relationships with seniors.

No licenses or certifications are required, and we are hiring immediately! Experience with medication administration is necessary, and candidates must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the living environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly is preferred.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license or ID is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to punctuality.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position with 8-hour shifts, requiring work every other weekend.
