Job description:
Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Resident Aides to provide dedicated care to our residents in Rochester Hills, MI. The Resident Aide will assist residents with activities of daily living, offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for helping others, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to building meaningful relationships with seniors.
Experience in medication administration is required, and candidates must be comfortable working independently. Immediate hiring is available, and no specific licenses or certifications are necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Maintain a clean environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
- Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
- Communicate professionally with families, support services, and fellow team members at Homestead.
- Adhere to all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Capable of passing a criminal background check.
- Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work every other weekend is mandatory.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position, with Resident Aides scheduled for 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend is a requirement.
Pay:
