The Gilbert Residence has proudly served seniors in our community since 1960. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care for 90 residents in our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Nursing Care units. As a Resident Assistant at The Gilbert Residence, you will deliver outstanding resident care under the supervision of a Med-Tech. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, engaging in or leading activities with residents, and performing general housekeeping duties in the assisted living or memory care unit. Our primary care goal is to support residents in maintaining an optimal level of independence, especially in daily activities and social interactions.

Duties:

  • Assist residents with bathing (tub or shower).
  • Aid residents during meal times.
  • Support residents with toileting (urinal, bedside commode, bathroom).
  • Provide grooming assistance (hair care, nail care, foot care).
  • Assist with oral hygiene and denture care.
  • Measure residents’ intake and output.
  • Collect urine and stool specimens.
  • Help residents transfer from beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
  • Aid residents in utilizing walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and braces.
  • Perform range of motion exercises (active and passive).
  • Assist with ambulation.
  • Support residents in making beds and tidying their rooms daily.
  • Weigh residents and take vital signs.
  • Assist residents in establishing a daily routine.
  • Observe residents for any changes in function or behavior.
  • Help organize and maintain cleanliness of residents’ personal clothing.
  • Serve as an essential assistant to professional staff members.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and unit conferences.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude and demeanor.
  • Proven track record of reliable attendance.
  • Availability for every other weekend.
