Job description:

Part-time position from 3 PM to 11 PM. Training will be provided for this role. The Gilbert Residence has been dedicated to serving seniors in our community since 1960, offering exceptional care for up to 90 residents across our Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Nursing Care units. Our mission is to uphold a tradition of excellence by delivering compassionate and dignified care to seniors within our community.

The Resident Assistant at The Gilbert Residence plays a vital role in providing outstanding resident care under the supervision of a Med-Tech. Responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living, leading or participating in activities, and performing general housekeeping duties within the assisted living or memory care units. Our primary objective is to support residents in achieving an optimal level of independence, particularly in daily living activities and social interactions.

Duties:

• Assist residents with bathing (tub or shower)
• Aid residents during mealtimes
• Support residents with toileting needs (urinal, bedside commode, bathroom)
• Assist with grooming tasks (hair care, nail care, foot care)
• Help residents with oral hygiene and denture care
• Measure and record intake and output
• Collect urine and stool specimens
• Assist residents with transfers from bed, chair, or wheelchair
• Aid residents in using mobility aids such as walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and braces
• Perform range of motion exercises (both active and passive)
• Assist with ambulation
• Help residents make their beds and maintain daily room tidiness
• Weigh residents and take vital signs
• Provide post-mortem care
• Adhere to standard precautions and specialized isolation techniques
• Assist residents in establishing a basic daily structure
• Observe residents for any changes in function or behavior
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of residents’ personal clothing
• Serve as an essential assistant to professional staff members
• Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and unit conferences
• Perform any other required duties
