Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, established in 1916, stands as one of Ohio’s foremost providers of rehabilitation services. Through our extensive retail store network, we generate sales revenue to support numerous individuals with disabilities and local homeless veterans.

The Retail Sales Associate serves as the initial point of contact for retail customers, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring that the sales floor is maintained for a pleasant and safe shopping experience. This role requires collaboration with team members in a dynamic environment to efficiently process merchandise for sale and display. Additionally, the Retail Sales Associate provides operational support to the management team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Flexibility to work varied schedules to support store operations, including opening, production, and closing.
• Proficiency in English for effective communication with customers and Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries associates.
• Strong verbal communication skills.

• Proven sales and customer service expertise.

• Competence in processing transactions via a computer system and POS register, including basic calculator usage.

Physical Requirements

Role and Responsibilities

• Deliver professional, friendly, and courteous service to all customers both in-store, over the phone, and during outdoor interactions.
• Process sales transactions accurately at the POS system.
• Maintain flexibility in work schedule as determined by the supervisor to accommodate store operations, including weekends and holidays.
• Stay knowledgeable about merchandise and respond to customer inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Uphold dressing room standards and maintain the presentation of the sales floor, notifying management of any product needs.
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the register area.
• Execute store security procedures effectively.
• Use the paging system to communicate store messages.
• Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting throughout the store and restrooms.
• Assist donors and customers outside retail locations by greeting donors, receiving donations, and providing receipts.
• Communicate the organization’s mission and vision to donors and customers while soliciting monetary donations at the POS.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.

Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour.
