Job Overview:
You will be responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms while adhering to established cleanliness and propriety standards to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve items from storage, set up and maintain cleaning carts and storerooms in an orderly manner to enhance efficiency.
- Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms and public areas using ladders as necessary to ensure a pristine facility.
- Maintain sanitary guest and public restrooms by washing shower walls, tubs, toilets, and sinks.
- Replace towels, soaps, and room amenities, ensuring adequate supplies for incoming guests.
- Wash hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and stains.
- Dust and polish all furnishings, fixtures, and wall hangings, utilizing tools to reach difficult areas.
- Strip beds of linen and remake with fresh bedding, checking for cleanliness of bedspreads and pads.
- Inspect and clean mattresses, and restock closet supplies such as hangers and extra linens.
- Vacuum rooms, hallways, and public areas, ensuring thorough cleaning, even under furniture.
- Inspect door and window locks for functionality and immediately report any security concerns.
- Ensure all in-room equipment (TVs, lamps, etc.) is functioning and report maintenance issues to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Safeguard equipment, keys, and supplies to protect hotel property.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful demeanor at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications:
Education/Formal Training:
No formal education or training required.
Experience:
No prior experience necessary.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, familiarity with cleaning products, and operation of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Pushing, pulling, and moving equipment and furniture.
- Working with arms elevated throughout the shift.
- Maneuvering a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Identifying debris and reading written instructions in dimly lit areas.
Environment:
- Engaging in prolonged physical activity within a climate-controlled indoor environment.
- Exposure to heat and humidity in laundry facilities, spending approximately 95% of the shift indoors.
