Job Summary:
You will be responsible for driving sales through exceptional customer service and a thorough understanding of the La-Z-Boy selling process, products, and services. Your goal will be to cultivate long-term customer relationships that result in increased sales and profitability. You will also gain practical experience in interior design through interactions with a La-Z-Boy Designer.
Training Compensation: $15 – $17 per hour for the initial 3-4 weeks (no commission or bonus).
Average Earning Potential Post-Training: $50,000 – $70,000 (base salary plus commission).
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership
- Contribute to achieving store sales goals by effectively selling furniture, accessories, and services offered by La-Z-Boy.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager, Sales Manager, Designer, and Associates to promote the Design program and enhance overall store sales performance.
- Assist the Designer in meeting established Design program sales targets.
- Execute the La-Z-Boy selling process consistently, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
- Develop and apply essential sales techniques, including rapport building, needs analysis, tailored presentations, handling objections, closing sales, and maintaining ongoing customer relationships.
- Leverage store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots efforts to maximize sales.
- Maintain a strong understanding of both existing and new product lines.
Design Program Execution
- Schedule professional home consultations to deliver customized room designs, including fabric samples, furniture, and accessory recommendations, alongside thorough explanations of our professional installation service.
- Execute the Design process in alignment with company guidelines and support in-store design-related functions.
Customer Engagement
- Provide unparalleled customer service to both current and prospective customers.
- Guarantee that every La-Z-Boy customer enjoys an informative and positive interaction, utilizing effective customer service skills and product knowledge in accordance with the company selling process.
- Employ tools such as Podium to ensure customer satisfaction and facilitate future follow-ups.
- Make judicious business decisions aimed at promoting customer satisfaction and a collaborative team environment.
- Assist with incoming phone calls and emails to provide store support.
- Address customer issues and complaints promptly, offering viable solutions and alternatives to ensure satisfaction.
Team Collaboration
- Foster positive working relationships with all store associates.
- Contribute to the training, coaching, and development of new peers, enhancing their understanding of La-Z-Boy products and selling techniques to achieve sales goals.
- Champion a culture of sales excellence and service among team members.
Operational Excellence
- Assist with the overall visual presentation of the store, including maintaining showroom displays, tagging products, and upholding store cleanliness.
- Adhere to established operational procedures and guidelines.
- Accurately process order information, manage customer records, and oversee payments and deliveries.
- Maintain an accurate daily log within the On-Point system.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency, enthusiasm, and engagement with both the store team and customers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in company standards, product knowledge, and internal systems.
- Schedule timely deliveries with customers.
- Fulfill opening and closing responsibilities as required.
Minimum Job Requirements – Sales:
- Prior sales experience, particularly in closing sales, is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

What You Can Expect:
