Job description:
As a Senior Capital Project Manager in support of Customer Service and Logistics, you will take the lead in managing and executing capital projects across our designated warehouses and distribution centers. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations and drive innovation. You will spearhead engineering and automation initiatives, leveraging cutting-edge technology and collaborating with a team of distinguished professionals. Your input will directly enhance the success and efficiency of our facilities, making this a rewarding and fulfilling role.
We are searching for a proactive individual who will be actively engaged in daily engineering and automation projects. Your outstanding planning and influencing skills will be vital to our achievements. This position allows for flexibility in work location, with options to work from our headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, or any major plant sites, including Cary, North Carolina; Jackson, Tennessee; Rome, Georgia; and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Please note that this role may require up to 50% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Planning: Oversee capital project execution, forecasting, and tracking to ensure alignment with cost, schedule, performance, employee safety, and food safety objectives.
- Team Building: Collaborate with design engineers, automation equipment suppliers, construction contractors, procurement teams, and drawing management specialists (typically Engineering Service Providers) to optimize capital execution performance and processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Utilize your strong interpersonal skills to engage with both internal and external customers, including Supply Chain and Engineering leadership, Customer Service and Logistics partners, and Process and Packaging teams. External partners may include Engineering and Construction Management Service Providers, Consulting Firms, Equipment Vendors, and Co-manufacturers.
- Financial Management: Implement Kellanova’s financial policies regarding capital classification, asset setup, and capital guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least six years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED accompanied by 20 years of relevant technical expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing projects within warehouse and distribution center environments, particularly involving automation technologies.
- Proven ability to supervise contractors and manage construction activities effectively.
- Expertise in defining and guiding project execution through various contracting strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and project management software.
- Solid foundation in project management methodologies, including cost/schedule tracking, change management, risk identification, and options analysis.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
Compensation:
The annual salary range for this role is between $136,200 and $179,340, determined by various factors such as location, experience, and skill set. Additionally, discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance are available.
