Job description:

Provides pre-sales technical engineering support to Account Executives and clients, playing a critical role throughout the sales process. This position emphasizes delivering tailored technical solutions for mid-sized and enterprise accounts, collaborating closely with clients to identify how Logicalis solutions can best meet their needs. Responsibilities include offering comprehensive solutions for data center technologies, encompassing traditional on-premises (server, storage, hypervisor, and backup) as well as hybrid technologies integrated with on-premise solutions. The role necessitates a strong focus on customer-centric documentation, accurate quoting, and presenting solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops precise designs and proposals for clients utilizing Logicalis technologies, services, and methodologies.
  • Conducts assessments and surveys to gather essential data, followed by analysis to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Evaluates new business opportunities or requirements from a technical standpoint, ensuring alignment with target markets, our portfolio, and delivery capabilities.
  • Drafts Statements of Work (SOWs) for Logicalis Professional Services.
  • Designs and configures complex solution components and discusses proposed elements, configurations, and implementation specifics.
  • Prepares and facilitates client proof of concepts and product demonstrations.
  • Expands client engagement by promoting and positioning Logicalis services from the full portfolio to align with client requirements.
  • Advises the service delivery team to guarantee successful implementation of proposed solutions and facilitates client understanding of solution benefits.
  • Interfaces with vendor and manufacturer teams to enhance solutions.
  • Provides product and solution training for both Logicalis Sales teams and clients.
  • Mentors fellow team members and participates in increasingly complex client projects.
  • Remains informed about the latest solutions and services offered by Logicalis.
  • Establishes and nurtures client relationships through effective listening and communication skills.
  • Builds credibility and trust by consistently delivering on commitments within established timelines.
  • Engages in regional and national events, as well as team meetings, to foster collaboration.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Disciplines, or a related field.

Experience / Technical Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical pre-sales role, encompassing:
    • Enterprise, midrange, and commercial-grade storage solutions, including data protection from industry-leading vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, or Pure).
    • Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (iSCSI, Fiber Channel, FCoE, or Network-attached Storage (NAS)).
    • Expertise in Hybrid Cloud design and scoping for leading vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, Cisco, and Pure).
    • Knowledge of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) technologies from leading vendors (HPE, NetApp, Cisco).
    • Capability to conceptualize and articulate Data Center Automation and Orchestration using leading products (VMware, Cisco, etc.).
    • Experience with on-premises and cloud backup solutions (Veeam, IBM, and/or Commvault).
    • Proficiency in architecting solutions with documentation from OEM validated designs by HPE, Pure, NetApp, and Cisco.
    • Understanding of Business Continuity and High Availability strategies.
    • Knowledge of Virtualization Solutions from VMware.
    • Experience in combining products and services into cohesive technology solutions that fulfill client business objectives.
    • Background in consulting and implementing solutions within enterprise environments.
    • Demonstrated willingness to lead thought initiatives by participating in professional development and exploring emerging technologies (API integration, analytics, IoT).
    • Familiarity with OEM quoting tools such as IBM eConfig, Cisco CCW, or HPE OCA (Online Configuration Advanced).
    • Experience in business case development.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Certifications:

  • Storage technical certification(s) in pre-sales or implementation from industry-leading storage vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, Pure, or Cisco).
  • Additional certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP), Microsoft certifications, and cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) are preferred.
