Job description:
Provides pre-sales technical engineering support to Account Executives and clients, serving as an essential part of the complete sales process. Specializes in technical solutions for mid-size and enterprise accounts, collaborating closely with clients to identify how Logicalis solutions can best address their needs. Delivers comprehensive solutions for data center technologies, encompassing traditional on-premises infrastructures (including servers, storage, hypervisors, and backup) as well as hybrid technologies integrated with on-premises solutions. Prioritizes customer-focused documentation, quoting, and presenting solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops accurate designs and proposals for clients utilizing Logicalis technologies, services, and methodologies.
- Conducts assessments, studies, and surveys to gather data, analyzing it to provide insightful recommendations and solutions.
- Evaluates new business opportunities from a technical perspective within existing and prospective clients, ensuring alignment with target markets, portfolio, and delivery capabilities.
- Drafts Statements of Work (SOWs) for Logicalis Professional Services.
- Designs and configures complex solution components.
- Proposes solutions including elements, configurations, and implementation details.
- Prepares for and leads client proof of concepts.
- Conducts product demonstrations.
- Expands client engagements by promoting and positioning Logicalis services from the entire portfolio according to client needs.
- Advises the service delivery team to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- Educates clients on the benefits of proposed solutions.
- Collaborates with vendor and manufacturer teams.
- Provides product and solution training for Logicalis Sales teams and clients.
- Mentors team members within Logicalis.
- Participates in increasingly complex client projects.
- Stays informed about the latest offerings and services provided by Logicalis.
- Builds strong client relationships through active listening and effective communication.
- Establishes credibility and trust by delivering on commitments within established timeframes.
- Engages in regional and national events as well as regional team meetings.
- Demonstrates a commitment to Logicalis’s mission by embodying the organization’s values.
- Maintains a working knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, along with Logicalis policies and procedures, ensuring adherence while upholding ethical and professional standards.

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements/Certifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, management, or a related field.
Experience / Technical Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years in a technical pre-sales role with experience in:
- Enterprise, Midrange, and Commercial-grade storage solutions, including data protection from leading storage vendors (e.g., IBM, HPE, NetApp, Pure).
- Storage Area Networks (iSCSI, Fiber Channel, FCOE, NAS).
- Hybrid Cloud design and scoping for leading vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, Cisco, Pure).
- Hyper-Converged Infrastructure technologies for top vendors (HPE, NetApp, Cisco).
- Data Center Automation and Orchestration using leading products (VMware, Cisco, etc.).
- On-premises and cloud backup solutions (Veeam, IBM, Commvault).
- Architecting solutions documented in OEM validated designs from HPE, Pure, NetApp, and Cisco.
- Business Continuity/High Availability.
- Virtualization Solutions from VMware.
- Combining products and services into technology solutions tailored to customer business needs.
- Consulting and solution implementation experience in enterprise environments.
- A willingness to be a thought leader by engaging in professional development and exploring emerging technologies, such as API integration, analytics, and IoT.
- Familiarity with OEM quoting tools (e.g., IBM eConfig, Cisco CCW, HPE OCA).
- Experience in developing business cases.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
Certifications:
- Technical certifications in storage related to pre-sales or implementation from leading storage vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, Pure, Cisco).
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP), Microsoft, Backup, Cloud (Azure, AWS)).
