Job description:

Provides pre-sales technical engineering support to Account Executives and clients, playing an integral role throughout the sales process. This position emphasizes the development of technical solutions for mid-size and enterprise accounts, collaborating closely with clients to identify how Logicalis solutions can effectively address their needs. Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive solutions for data center technologies encompassing both traditional on-premises (server, storage, hypervisor, and backup) and hybrid technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create precise designs and proposals for clients utilizing Logicalis technologies, services, and methodologies.
  • Conduct assessments and analyses to gather data, advising clients on recommended solutions.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities or requirements within existing and prospective clients from a technical perspective, ensuring compatibility with target markets and service capabilities.
  • Draft Statements of Work (SOWs) for Logicalis Professional Services.
  • Design and configure complex solution components.
  • Propose elements, configurations, and implementation specifics of solutions.
  • Prepare for and conduct client proofs of concept.
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations.
  • Enhance client engagements by promoting and defining Logicalis services tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with service delivery teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Assist clients in understanding the benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Liaise with vendor and manufacturer teams.
  • Provide product and solution training to both Logicalis Sales teams and clients.
  • Mentor team members within Logicalis.
  • Participate in increasingly complex client projects.
  • Stay informed about the latest solutions and services offered by Logicalis.
  • Build client relationships through strong listening skills and effective communication.
  • Establish credibility and trust by delivering on commitments within set timelines.
  • Engage in regional and national events and team meetings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Logicalis through consistent behavior.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, along with Logicalis policies, to ensure ethical adherence.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Management, or a related field.

Experience / Technical Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in a technical pre-sales role, with proficiency in:
    • Enterprise, Midrange, and Commercial-grade storage solutions, including data protection from leading vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, or Pure).
    • Storage Area Networks (iSCSI, Fiber Channel, FCOE, or NAS).
    • Hybrid Cloud design and scoping for major vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, Cisco, and Pure).
    • HCI technologies from leading vendors (HPE, NetApp, Cisco).
    • Data Center Automation and Orchestration topics involving products like VMware and Cisco.
    • On-premises and cloud backup solutions (Veeam, IBM, and/or Commvault).
    • Architecting solutions documented in OEM validated designs from HPE, Pure, NetApp, and Cisco.
    • Business Continuity and High Availability solutions.
    • Virtualization Solutions from VMware.
    • Integrating products and services into technology solutions that align with customer business needs.
    • Consulting and solution implementation experience in enterprise environments.
    • Participating as a thought leader, engaging in professional development, and developing solutions surrounding emerging technologies such as API integration, analytics, and IoT.
    • Familiarity with OEM quoting tools such as IBM eConfig, Cisco CCW, or HPE OCA.
    • Experience in business case development.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.

Certifications:

  • Technical certifications in storage pre-sales or implementation from leading vendors (IBM, HPE, NetApp, Pure, or Cisco).
  • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP), Microsoft, Backup or Cloud (Azure/AWS)).
