Job description:

As a TASK FORCE Special Operations Manager / General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in positioning our hotels for long-term success through the implementation of effective transition strategies. This position entails hands-on hospitality management, where you will have full accountability for upholding J&P’s esteemed brand standards of excellence.

The Special Operations Manager/General Manager will oversee the hotel’s daily operations while effectively managing a team of 6 to 12 employees. You will ensure adherence to our rigorous quality and cleanliness standards, as well as our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional guest service. It is essential to take full ownership of the hotel, ensuring profitability and fostering guest satisfaction throughout their stay.

This task force position requires extensive travel, with up to 100% travel expected to various openings.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three to five years of experience as a General Manager in a limited-service hotel.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and hotel front desk operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, including sales and marketing, security and safety programs, human resources and labor relations, budget forecasting, quality assurance protocols, hotel law, and strategic long-range planning.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s high brand standards of excellence. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a consistently positive and memorable guest experience.
  • Actively participating in sales efforts by engaging with key accounts, meeting potential and current clients, and promoting room sales.
  • Conducting thorough property assessments to identify and address repairs and housekeeping needs.
  • Selecting, orienting, training, and managing your team of employees.
  • Overseeing P&L responsibilities to ensure consistent profitability of the property.
  • Ensuring completion of preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Implementing payroll and inventory cost control policies and procedures.
  • Delivering the highest levels of quality and customer service.
  • Managing vendor relationships effectively.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage & Hour, and Health regulations.
