CoverMyMeds’ Technology division is seeking a Specialist in Data Engineering – Transactional Data to join our accomplished Data Engineering team. This highly skilled group of engineers, analysts, and architects is dedicated to delivering high-quality, scalable, and repeatable data solutions for our internal and external clients. The efforts of our Data Engineering team are instrumental in ensuring that more individuals receive the medications necessary for healthier lives.
Responsibilities:
The Specialist in Data Engineering will enhance and support the data platforms that are vital for processing, storing, and organizing the essential data utilized by our Product Engineering teams. This role will involve contributing to the technical strategy and execution necessary for providing stable, reliable, and secure solutions while proactively keeping business partners informed about the health of our Data & Analytics platform and addressing any issues that arise. Collaboration with Data Systems Analysts, as well as Product and Technology partners, will be key in solving business challenges and delivering effective solutions.
Position Description:
- Design and develop comprehensive solutions for complex data integrations across various systems for both internal and external McKesson/CoverMyMeds customers.
- Create Data Ingestion and Integration pipelines from diverse sources to application data repositories.
- Analyze databases, files, and unstructured data to identify, transport, and conduct quality tests on the data essential for synchronization tasks, including regular and incremental data loads.
- Write code in SQL and utilize cloud-based tools such as Snowflake or Databricks to cleanse, apply business logic, and standardize data in accordance with business rules, thus supporting effective data governance and facilitating clear end-user reporting.
- Conceptualize a data model based on business reporting requirements, engaging with business partners to fully understand business logic and the end use of data.
- Collaborate with application development teams to determine data needs and design appropriate data flows into production systems.
Candidates should be located in the Columbus, OH metropolitan area. Although remote work is primarily permitted, the candidate must reside within the Columbus area. Sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent experience, typically requiring 4+ years of relevant work experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Critical Skills:
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on technical experience with data warehouse solutions, cloud technology, relational databases, and event streaming tools such as Postgres, SQL Server, Qlik, Databricks, and Kafka.
- Proficient in working with both structured and unstructured data in batch and real-time streaming environments.
- Experience with supporting OLTP applications, real-time analytics, system integration, and data governance.
- Proven expertise in database design and modeling for transactional systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of cloud data technologies.
- Experience with large-scale implementation programs and business-critical applications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate timely and set clear expectations.
- A proactive listener and effective communicator who can lead by influence.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to devise creative solutions to complex challenges.
