Job description:

The Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager at Huntington Technology Finance (HTF) is responsible for enhancing and maintaining profitable customer relationships by proactively assessing and managing associated business risks and opportunities, in accordance with Huntington’s established policies and Guiding Principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate, deepen, and retain profitable customer relationships while proactively assessing and mitigating business risks and opportunities in alignment with Huntington’s policies and principles.
  • Assume primary responsibility for the evaluation and management of credit and risks within the commercial portfolio.
  • Underwrite and oversee the quality and credit standards of the assigned portfolio, collaborating closely with the Team Leader and Regional Credit Officer.
  • Analyze complex and substantial credit requests from prospects and clients, leveraging extensive knowledge of client and industry dynamics, and assessing the implications of macroeconomic factors on creditworthiness.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of financial statements, forecasts, and business plans, identifying key risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to optimize customer relationships and enhance portfolio revenue through effective financial solutions.
  • Manage portfolio performance, including addressing delinquencies, collateral exceptions, and conducting regular portfolio reviews and specialized reporting.
  • Maintain rigorous oversight of financial statement spreading, risk rating integrity, periodic reviews, compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on corporate, investment, and commercial banking solutions, as well as market trends and economic drivers, sharing insights across the organization.
  • Handle a substantial portfolio of complex clients, taking an active leadership role beyond everyday portfolio management.
  • Mentor Credit Analysts and junior Portfolio Managers to foster professional growth and development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in commercial credit analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a bank-owned equipment finance organization or comparable experience.
  • Industry or sub-sector expertise preferred.
  • RMA-CRC and CLFP designations are advantageous.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Moody’s spreading software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $154,000, with actual compensation based on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
