Position Purpose:
The Surgical Care Technician in the Pre-op and PACU departments provides care to patients before and after surgical procedures. Annually, our Operating Room at Chelsea performs over 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries across various specialties, including gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.

The Surgical Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting endoscopes and other related equipment as assigned, performing essential surgical care tasks such as transporting patients, monitoring vital signs, conducting urine pregnancy tests, and discontinuing IVs. The role also includes clerical and housekeeping duties, such as cleaning stretchers, equipment, and terminally cleaning the Surgical Department.

Shift Available: Day Shift (start times vary between 5:45 AM – 8:30 AM, 10-hour shifts)
Status Available: Part-time, benefit-eligible (40 hours per pay period – every two weeks)

  • At least one year of previous related experience.
