Join our esteemed team of experts in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, and training. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Territory Account Manager. Responsibilities:
- The primary focus of this role is to manage accounts and drive sales within industrial sectors, data centers, hospitals, and electrical contractors, promoting Shermco’s comprehensive suite of electrical testing, maintenance, repair, and engineering services.
- Engage in direct sales and business development activities that foster business growth and retention to meet or exceed established sales targets.
- Assess and qualify potential sales opportunities to strategically pursue the most promising leads.
- Take accountability for achieving annual multi-million dollar sales budgets.
- Identify, develop, and execute effective sales strategies.
- Assist in the development of estimates, sales proposals, and sales presentations.
- Regularly visit assigned accounts to maintain a strategic relationship, swiftly identifying necessary changes and opportunities.
- Stay informed about industry trends and enhance technical knowledge based on market demands.
- Support key marketing initiatives to facilitate sales growth, including roadshows, national conferences, tradeshows, and sales training activities.
- Manage pricing and channel-related issues, addressing competitive quotes and cross-selling conflicts as necessary.
- Oversee customer accounts from sales through to securing purchase orders, establishing terms and conditions, and maintaining strong customer relations.
- Conduct job walks and act as the frontline liaison between sales and production to qualify opportunities.
- Lead customer discussions and support educational lunches.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service group to enhance the purchasing experience for clients.
- Participate in Shermco training events and trade shows.
- Document sales activities in the CRM system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and experience in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of successful B2B outside sales experience, particularly in engineering, industrial, or heavy commercial sectors. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven sales track record in power-related industries, especially in high-voltage (480 VAC to 345 kV) electrical equipment testing, maintenance, field commissioning, acceptance testing, and general power engineering.
- Proven ability to work independently and exhibit a high level of motivation.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a solid understanding of financial metrics and profitability.
- Exceptional sales aptitude, including effective negotiation skills, ability to engage with key decision-makers, and capability to identify and prospect new customers while forecasting future business.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills.
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 20% of the time.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods; able to drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must successfully pass a fit-for-duty physical exam when required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
