Job description:

The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering on-site service solutions, which include order replenishment, product placement, and maintaining Lean (6S) standards. This position collaborates closely with sales and business development teams to foster incremental revenue and growth through tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote MSC’s customer loyalty by supporting and advocating for our solutions.
  • Partner with the MSC customer solutions and sales teams to implement the CARE program, which emphasizes Clean, Arrange, Relationships, and Exceeding Expectations.
  • Ensure all solutions equipment maintains a 6S appearance.
  • Record daily activities in Salesforce (SFDC).
  • Maintain appropriate inventory stock levels according to established min/max guidelines.
  • Manage the unpacking, receiving, and storing of products at all solution points of use.
  • Communicate effectively with customer contacts to ensure retention of solutions.
  • Drive product expansion through spot buys and incremental growth of solutions.
  • Ensure 100% safety compliance for the VMI team.
  • Repair and maintain vending solution equipment to meet company standards.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for solution and spot buy growth to sales associates and management, documenting findings in SFDC.
  • Support shared profitability improvement goals for assigned accounts.
  • Maintain knowledge of all inventory management solutions.
  • Develop and sustain professional relationships with key personnel at assigned customer sites.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction ratings that meet MSC’s standards.
  • Utilize routing software to adhere to planned schedules and document daily activities.
  • Manage daily timekeeping using MSC-approved time management applications.
  • Cultivate the MSC Culture within the department and across the company to fulfill MSC’s vision and objectives.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • Experience in Inventory Management or Customer Service is preferred.
  • Relevant military experience is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong customer service capabilities are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
